WHAT WE DO
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The SCA is in charge of planning four pep rallies throughout the school year (Fall Sports Pep Rally, Homecoming Pep Rally, Winter Sports Pep Rally, and Spring Sports Pep Rally). Each pep rally is held during FLEX on an adjusted school schedule, with Advisory being the last block of the day.
While SCA organizes the Pep Rally games, Class Council is in charge of maintaining a sign-up list for their class representatives who will participate in the game.
As established in our second year of Student Council, the class colors are as follows:
-
Seniors: Navy, Silver, and White (or Choice Colors)
-
Juniors: Navy
-
Sophomores: Silver
-
Freshmen: White

Homecoming

Homecoming is arguably the largest and most anticipated event for SCA. Members are in charge of establising spirit days, class competitions, pep rally events, dance decorations, and Homecoming themes.
The past Homecoming (or 2012 Dedication) Themes have been:
- (k)Night Life
- As Seen on TV
-Heroes of the Night
Annual Talent Show
For the past three years, the SCA has been able to produce a very successful, and entertaining Talent Show. Student Council is in charge of creating audition packets and establishing audition requirements, recruiting faculty judges, running the audition process in early January, hosting the event, and working backstage during all rehearsals and performances.
Audition packets generally become available in December after the Thanksgiving Break. Any student may audition for the show (all talents are welcomed and encouraged)!
This past year, the Student Council decided to focus our funds towards a specific charity of choice, Relay for Life. With tickets selling in Advisory for $1, the event raised more than $800 to beat cancer. One of our most successful events, the Talent Show is able to produce a strong profit due to it being entirely student run, with the help of our amazing sponsor and theatre dept, of course!

Relay 4 Life

Iniated during our second year, SCA members volunteer for the Relay for Life at Loudoun, traditionally held during May or June.
This year, several of our programs are geared to raising money to support our team, and ultimately to help eliminate cancer.
Any SCA member is encouraged to attend. If space permits, non-SCA members are invited to join our team. Any organization at Champe may establish their own team, as well.

Time Capsule
As the third year of Champe's history, the SCA was invited to help organize the burial of our inaugural time capsule, including objects from our first three years of history. As part of the time capsule, students and alumni were invited to share pictures of their memories at Champe by either using the hashtag "JCHSTimeCapsule" on Twitter/Instagram, or email. The ceremony for the burial was held on May 28, 2015, and the time capsule will not be reopened until the 25th anniversary of the school.

New Projects to Come

Each year the SCA implements new ideas and creates new projects. New initiatives this year include maintaining the main lobby display case, painting the rock each month, establishing a club Twitter account, and hosting the first free-for-student event by SCA: Movie Night.
Any student at Champe is welcome to contact the SCA with any new ideas for helping better our student community at Champe.
