Ideas we might want to implement (from the county-wide SCA meeting on March 7, 2015 at BWHS)
1. A partnership with a local business or charity
a. Tuscarora partners with Loudoun Interfaith
b. Stone Bridge partners with Chick-fil-a to provide free hot chocolate to students one morning a year
2. Staff Appreciation
a. We’ve already planned to decorate workroom doors for teacher appreciation week
b. Park View and Stone Bridge both deliver small gifts (ex. Expo markers, candy) to teachers via staff mailboxes
c. Also do something for admin during teacher appreciation week?
d. Teacher prizes for spirit week competitions
i. Which department dressed up the most
ii. Best dressed teacher etc.
3. Open Lunch
a. Woodgrove does an open lunch with their school and has events during it, would this ever be an option for Champe?
4. Summer Leadership Conference
a. Stone Bridge does a summer leadership day prior to the start of school
i. Invite SCA, class councils, other student leaders
ii. Guest speakers
iii. Photographs from the event become the first display case of the year
b. They also invite their Inter Club Council
i. A group of people that essentially manage all club activities throughout the school
5. Mr. Loudoun County
a. The winners of each high school’s male beauty pageant compete
b. Our Mr. Knight won’t be until June
i. Do we still want to find a way to participate?
c. Will likely be held at either Freedom or Tuscarora
6. SCA recruitment
a. We want more people to join SCA/run for an officer position
b. Potential recruitment methods
i. Have SCA Officers email those interested (emails at freshmen expo, encourage them to run for class council or to keep SCA in mind to join sophomore year)
ii. Each SCA member nominate someone they think would make a good officer/exec board member
iii. Increase advertising for elections, announcement slides etc.
